our story

We came to know and understand wine from the chef and sommelier perspective having worked in restaurants for more than a decade. Yet we yearned to learn how to farm a vineyard and make wine.

Our dream of farming grapes, managing vines, harvesting fruit and bottling our own wine became reality when we moved to Rancho Estrella in September of 2014. The property had two acres of Pinot Noir that owner had nearly given up on until we arrived. 

We immediately fell in love with the rustic beauty of this hidden place, which is where Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley and Carneros appellations meet. Together, the neighbors, animals and Mother Nature create a unique community of friendship, collaboration and respect for all things. It is a calm, peaceful home that is truly special to us.

We learned many lessons making wine that first year, but the most impressive thing we discovered was the different flavor variations from the small vineyard block.  For us, making a wine that highlights the very best of Rancho Estrella is our priority.  Looplocked wine is our way of sharing our life and home in California with our friends, family and fellow wine lovers near and far.
